Arius is an outpost of the Kingdom of Irukandji, a utopian tropical paradise somewhere in the South Pacific. An OpenSimulator world located on the DigiWorldz grid, Arius is home to my avatar, Xay Tomsen, and also where I host my in-world businesses.

Arius the microcosm
First brought online in 2017, Arius is now my longest running region. It's also the only publicly-accessible region I've kept online. That outcome has been by design. As I explain on the Irukandji page, the story of the kingdom has largely been told, and now I can move on to other projects that I've neglected for too long.
That said though, and given the curious resurgence of popularity for virtual worlds, I want to keep the story alive. That's the true purpose of Arius. It constitutes a museum, a microcosm of everything that Irukandji once was, contained in a single region.
It follows that it has to be self-sustaining financially. That's why I keep my shops going. Trees, fish, boats, Speedos, and dicks, that's what people want. 😄 And I still like to tweak and twiddle my product ranges. It's always been about the art for me.
Aside from that, and in the absence of paying residents who used to roleplay so much in the islands, I've replaced them with NPCs. The Princes of Irukandji, their subjects, the soldiers, the shopkeepers - they're all automated now.
Personally, I really like it. NPCs keep the place moving as they go about their daily lives, and I really love tweaking their personalities and interactions. Always building worlds, what can I say?
Feel free to head in-world and explore. That's what virtual worlds are all about.
Hugs, Xay Tomsen
