Part of the Irukandji Continent, Xanadu Island was a residential island on the SpotOn3D grid for three months during 2011.

Xanadu Island was located directly northeast of Tamita Island, in the space traditionally occupied by Grand Irukandji in all other versions of the Irukandji Continent.

The landscape however was quite similar ot GI, with long flat beaches on the western shore and hills behind. To the south and west were two scenic bays, Iruka Bay and Adonis Beach respectively.

Parcels of land were offered for sale on Xanadu Island, and for its brief life, the western beach in particular enjoyed quite decent occupancy.

The adjacent photograph is the only picture of Xanadu Island that survives of the time. While the photo is unremarkable in itself, the pool featured in the photo is representative of the large amount of building that I was able to achieve during my short time in SpotOn3D.

Many of the builds that I undertook on Xanadu Island and neighbouring Adonis Beach were significant. Some, such as the Noumea Spa in the photograph, spawned enormous new ranges of products on other grids, that I still expand upon today.

Aside from that, I hold no particularly fond memories of Xanadu Island, nor any other sim on that particular grid.

There just weren't enough users there to keep it interesting, so I felt as though my art was going to waste. But one moves on when inspiration is absent, and I did. Nonetheless, Xanadu Island served its purpose and shares part of my journey through the history of Irukandji.
