Kalamat Island ~ a virtual world sim in InWorldz by Xay Tomsen
Kalamat Island is a region in Kalamat State in farwest Irukandji.
The state of Kalamat originates back to 2008 in Second Life, and there, several regions made up the territory.
Later on the InWorldz virtual world, due to that grid's much lower population, the state was represented by just two regions; this one and Palu Island.
To that end, Kalamat Island is very loosely based on the earlier Kalamat state capital, New Batavia.
I commissioned Kalamat Island quite late into my InWorldz excursion, and as such, it only existed for about four months. Its history does continue however in the new Aratura sim on the DigiWorldz grid.
During its time, Kalamat Island was surprisingly well tenanted, perhaps made popular by its isolation, as several larger landowners moved in there.
Regrettably, it appears that no photographs survive of Kalamat Island. If you happened to have visited there and took photos and wish to share them on this page, please let me know via the comment section below.
