Hi and welcome.
The paintings and drawings section of the site contains my two-dimensional visual art from the last few decades. Much of my art is created under the pseudonym, Xavier, which I started using in 1998.
Most of my 2D pieces are people-centric, i.e. they focus on a human subject(s), where I try to capture an emotion of the moment, or tell part of a story for the viewer to expand upon in their own minds.
My traditional artistic output, i.e. painting and drawing, seems to come in spurts followed by long droughts, i.e. you will see a lot of pieces from 1998, 2001, 2004, and 2009, but very few from other years.
Additionally, around 2007, my art started to seriously overlap with my interests in virtual reality. As a result, the lion's share of my artistic output since then, and especially since 2012, has been 3D digital content for use in virtual worlds, e.g. buildings, vehicles, islands, avatars etc.
3D content is an extremely valid art form in its own right, and the medium is highly addictive. It is far more complex and time-consuming than painting, yet somehow I've produced over 10,000 digital works in the last ten years. My fear with including them here though, is that their sheer numbers will overwhelm the traditional art on this page.
In order to avoid that, I've kept that content separate from the traditional art on this page. If you're interested in exploring my 3D art, please visit the Virtual Worlds section of the site.
I hope you enjoy my collection of paintings and drawings. They are listed alphabetically. I've included lesser pieces as well as the good, as they were all part of my journey. Click on a title to see the piece in greater detail. Where I thought it relevant or interesting, I've included a brief background story.
If you feel so inclined, you can leave comments at the end of any page.
Have a brilliant day,
